eotechnical engineering is concerned with the engineering behaviour of soil and rocks under the influence of loads. Our multi disciplinary engineers team provide quality solutions in design of foundations, design of earth retaining structures, slope stability checks and ground water analysis taking. As engineers we compute the feasibility and design to assure stability and integration of the structures. Our designers are proficient in relevant softwares used for Geotechnical design and analysis.

Foundation is the part of structure that transfers the weight of the structure to the ground. Our engineers are well versed in the design of different type of foundations based on different codes. The input for this calculation mainly will be the soil investigation report, level of the buildings/structures and the loads. The main outputs will be the footing type, footing dimensions, settlement analysis and footing reinforcements.

A slope, new or old needs to be checked for its stability under the influence of various loads coming on it. Slope stability analysis involves the design of optimal slopes with regard to safety, reliability and economics and the design of possible remedial measures. Our engineers are well versed in slope stability analysis using manual calculations and high-end FEM softwares like Plaxis2D, Plaxis 3D etc.

Earth retaining structures are designed to withstand soil's lateral pressure or hold back soil materials. Our engineers are well versed in the design of different types of earth retaining structures like retaining walls, sheet piles, gabion walls, berliner wall, soil nailing, anchored earth retention systems, reinforced earth walls, mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls, diaphragm walls, gravity wall, L wall, slurry walls, and quay walls.

The determination of a suitable excavation method to remove the contaminated soil from the site considering the nature of the surroundings and to verify that the tank and contaminated soil can be safely excavated without endangering the existing structures is the major scope of soil remediation projects. The proposition of suitable excavation method depending upon the effects of excavation on nearby structures and its associated analyses will also be done in this type of work.

Jacking Pits are pits that are made to push tubes below ground level so that the traffic etc are not disturbed. Design the safety in stability and strength of the retaining structure supporting the jacking pit. The safe section required to withstand the jacking pressure on the pit is to be determined. Also, the requirement of an available intermediate station to reduce the effect of the jacking pressure per pit need to be checked if needed. The required depth of the pit is also checked. The check for uplift will be done to determine the connection of the retaining wall with the base slab and the slab thickness.

The scope of the dewatering project lies in the study of dewatering/drainage impacts to the surrounding areas according to "Guidelines for drainage for environmental protection 2021" published by the Vlaamse Milieumaatschappij( VMM). The work involves finding out the flow rate, influence radius to surrounding areas and the time taken for completion of dewatering using Hydrological software, GW Vistas. Settlements that may arise during drainage in nearby structures, comparison of the calculated settlement values with the standards (Wetenschappelijk en Technisch Centrum voor het Bouwbedrijf (WTCB) and Vlaamse Milieumaatschappij (VMM).) and the suggestion of adequate settlement reduction measures will also be addressed. The reviewing of special zones such as salinized areas, natural habitats, soil remediation areas, etc are also a part of these kinds of projects.

The scope of geo-screening project is the study of dewatering impacts to the surrounding areas according to "Guidelines for drainage for environmental protection 2021" published by the VMM. The work involves finding out the flow rate, influence radius to surrounding areas, settlement of surrounding buildings due to the impact of dewatering and the time taken for completion of dewatering using AutoCAD and MS Excel. The reviewing of special zones such as salinized areas, natural habitats, soil remediation areas, history situations etc are also a part of these kinds of projects.

Soil anchors are used to support earth-retaining structures like sheet piles, Berliner walls, Underpinning etc. They transfer the tensile load from these structures to the soil. The main input for these types of calculations will be the soil report and anchor forces. The output will be the anchor length and anchor type.

TECHNICAL​

Do you take up detailing work for reinforced concrete and steel structures?

Yes we do indeed. Our structural steel detailing team provides 3D model, General Arrangement drawings, erection and fabrication drawings for all types of steel structures including commercial and industrial projects, as well as infrastructural facilities according to the client specifications. We use Tekla, Advance Steel, Revit, and AutoCAD software and provide services to Indian and oversees clients.

Reinforcement detailing team provide services in both 2D and 3D detailing using softwares STRAKON and Revit as per the client requirements. We produce quality drawings and automated bar bending schedule based on Indian and all major international codes.

we also have expertise in preparing Architectural/ structural/ MEP models and generating 2D drawings and also topographic models and details using software like Civil 3D, Infraworks

 

In what formats can you deliver engineering documents and drawings?

Our 3D Models, calculation documents, and drawings are done in digital format. We are able to provide in any format that the client requires.

What are the formats in which you can accept input data?

We can accept drawings and documents in any format. If you have a specific format, please let us know and confirm it with us.

Can we send drawings and documents to you as email attachments?

yes you can send the drawings, documents and any other inputs through Email up to 50MB. If the file size is large choose a secure data transfer portal to send it.

Where can we get the parameters to access you ftp server?

Please send an email to info@paradigm-structural.com to tell us who you are and elaborate your need to access the ftp server. Our IT personnel will get back to you with the access information. You will then be provided an unique login name and password which will enable you to load files on the server. Except our administrator other users will not be able to view or access your files.

Will you be placing completed documents in the same folder as where the input data is?

The completed documents will be uploaded either through Email or through other secure data transfer portal provided by the clients.

Do back up your data?

Yes, we do. We have a backup server which runs a routine to check the ‘file modified’ attribute of each file in the connected hard disks and compare them with the last back up. All modified files are then backed up on another external hard drive connected to the back up server.

What is your typical turn around time for design and detailing projects?

The turnaround time depends on the intensity and urgency of the work, the geographical time zone, and the number of staff who can physically work simultaneously on a project. However, we have sufficient manpower to take up design and detailing works.

What kind of quality control procedures do you adopt?

We perform 3 tier quality control checks before uploading any drawings/documents to the client. Detailer / Engineer performs a self check along with the checklist. Corrections are marked and updated and then the file is submitted for first level checking along with signed checklist. The first checker verify it with the checklist and detailer / Engineer update the corrections, if any. The first checker re-verify the updates and the document is submitted for second level checking along with the signed checklist. The second checker performs review check with the checklist and ensures the quality of drawings/documents. Then the final outputs are sent to the client in the required formats. Once the project is completed in every aspect, we collect feedback from the client for future improvements.

Are all your technical staff are qualified engineers?

All our technical staffs are well qualified, We possess 88% graduate and post graduate engineers 10 % technical school (diploma) graduates 2% IT support professionals.

Do you have Architects and Building Service Engineers among your staff?

We do Architectural modeling and detailing works of residential buildings and commercial along with rendered views using Revit, Sketch up and Lumion. If any further more requirements are there, we hire the services of an external Architect and Building Service Engineers.

What are the type of structures your engineers have experience in structural design and detailing?

Are your engineers familiar with major international building codes?

Yes, we are familiar with almost all buildings codes,including IS,ACI, BS, AISC Code, Eurocode.

Are technical people easily available for recruitment in your area?

Kochi is the business capital of Kerala state. In and around Kochi there are a number of engineering colleges and polytechnic colleges which offer civil engineering degree and diploma courses. In case of any requirement we recruit freshers /experienced candidates and give training in our office for additional skills required to perform the tasks.

How long will it take to mobilize a team for doing short term projects?

Generally we will be able to mobilize in one week time, for a short term projects that requires less than 5 employees. Manpower mobilization will take at least two weeks after the project confirmation for projects that require more number of employees.
